Communications and Operations Intern – (she/her)

Like many in my generation, climate change has always been on my radar. My parents immigrated from China to the U.S. in the early 2000s, and when we went back to visit my dad’s hometown, I noticed how environmental conditions differed from what I was used to back home. I’ve witnessed how youth activism has brought attention to the climate crisis, and in wanting to be a part of the movement, I thought it meant I should nag my family about every little item of recycling — but while small individual actions matter, I’ve now also learned that collective action can drive broader change. Through experiences in public service and civic engagement, I’ve discovered that, from organizing communities to engaging with policymakers, climate advocacy is equally critical. Especially in today’s political climate, it feels more important than ever to speak up for what’s just and sustainable for both people and our planet.

At Boston University, I’m studying Economics and International Relations, and hope to pursue a career that leaves a lasting impact. BCAN’s work in climate action at the local level sets a precedent for positive change, and inspires me to strive for the same.
