Communications and Operations Intern – (she/her)

While change doesn’t happen overnight, it can start at the individual level whenever you choose. As I enter my fourth year at Boston University studying Political Science, I feel both overwhelmed and empowered with the task of being part of a new generation of change makers that will do good by our planet.

What I have learned through my studies, lived experiences, and work life are that all social justice issues are connected. You can’t claim to care about uplifting those from historically marginalized backgrounds without caring about climate. You can’t claim to care about climate without acknowledging its negative effects on community members that are just as much a part of our natural landscape as the wildlife we live amongst.

I am excited to bring a community driven approach to BCAN, adopted from both my education and work experience with the Asylum Seeker Centre and BU College of Arts and Science Experiential Learning Connector. Through these experiences I have practiced what it means to engage purposefully with a community. However, this work is never done and I still have much to learn. I am excited to join BCAN in doing important research on climate policy and to learn how citizens can effect change on a local level. It starts with you and your community. It comes around for the whole planet.
